FAIRFIELD BAY RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
BOATING, FISHING & SWIMMING: Greers Ferry Lake covers 40,000 acres and features 365 miles of shoreline. It is fed by the Little Red River from three separate forks known as, South Fork, Middle Fork, and Devils Fork. Fairfield Bay is located in the southwest part of the lake, closest to South Fork. Fishing is open year round with no closed season on any species. As a property owner you can enjoy special rates on Fairfield Bay Marina Boat Rentals, which include the use of pontoon boats, ski boats, fishing boats, wave runners, fishing equipment, water ski equipment, and other water recreation equipment. If needed the marina also supplies fishing guides. Fairfield Bay Marina is host to the World Wall eye Classic each spring. There are three swimming pools in the community, Mountain Ranch Pool, Racquet Club Pool, and Hamilton Cove Pool. There is no charge for the use of the pools by property owners. Use of the pools is free for property owners. You may also bring guests, if you wish.
GOLF: Fairfield Bay property owners enjoy two of the finest top-flight golf courses in Arkansas. Designed by Edmund B. Ault, Ltd., the prestigious Mountain Ranch Golf Course was ranked #1 course in Arkansas by Golf Digest, and has been host to a PGA Tournament. Indian Hills Golf Course is known as the most scenic course in the state. All property owners are welcome to use their own golf cart at Indian Hills or Mountain Ranch. You can also rent one on site. The cart rental fee at Indian Hills is $5 per day. The fee at Mountain Ranch is $10 per player, per round. Both golf courses are staffed with professionals to handle your instructional needs.
TENNIS: The Fairfield Bay Tennis Center features 10-lighted tennis courts and a tennis pro shop. The facility has a Prince ball machine for practice. The shop also provides match service if you want to find other players at your level. Weekly tennis events include Stroke of the Clinic, Adult Beginners and Juniors.
WORLD CLASS FISHING: For fishing enthusiasts, Fairfield Bay is home of some record-setting catches. Greers Ferry Lake holds WORLD RECORDS for Walleye (22 lb 11oz) and Hybrid Striped Bass (27 lb 5 oz). The Little Red River tail water, which feeds into Greers Ferry Lake, holds the current world-record for German Brown Trout (40 lb 4 oz).
HORSEBACK RIDING: Red River Ranch has guided Ozark Mountain trail rides, which overlook the Little Red River Valley. The rides are 45 & 90 minute, the horses are good, groups are welcome.
HIKING: Indian Rock Cave Nature Trail leads to the Indian Rock House where De Soto visited the Indians in 1542, while seeking the Fountain of Youth. Length: 3/4 mile. Time: 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Indian Falls Nature Trail is a breathtaking trail along Lynn Creek and the rim of Wild Horse Canyon. The rock formations and two waterfalls make this an extremely relaxing and peaceful hike. Length: 8/10 mile. Time: 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Rambling Cove Nature Trail is scenic woodland with a small cove. This trail begins at the entrance of the Van Buren Recreation Area. Length: About 1 mile. Time: 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
CRUISES ON GREERS FERRY LAKE: Sugarloaf Cruise: On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the Sugarloaf Shuttle departures from the Fairfield Bay Marina at 10 a.m. It is a short trip across the lake, and the shuttle docks on Sugarloaf Mountain, remaining for about two hours. Sugarloaf Mountain is very beautiful, and you can spend your time hiking the nature trail at your leisure. Price is $6 per adult, and $3 for children 12 and under. Sunset Cruise: The shuttle departs close to sundown on Wednesday night, for a wonderful 90-minute trip that allows you to view some of the magnificent sunset and panorama of the lake. Price is $7.50 per adult and $3.75 for children from 7 to 12 years old. Dinner Cruise: There is a wonderful twilight dinner cruise once a week on Tuesday evenings. The cruise is about 2 hours long. The dinner is very nice, the cost is $15.95 for adults, $8 for children 7 to 12 year, and children 6 and younger are free. Burgers on the Barge: Every Monday there is a 1 ½ to 2 hours lake cruise. Menu includes your choice of ¼ lb. hamburger or hot dogs, chips, potato salad, and tea. The price is of this meal is $9.95 for adults, $4.95 for 7 to 12 year olds, and children 6 and under are free.


ACTIVE LIFESTYLE: Other recreational activities abound at Fairfield Bay. There is Woodland Mead Park, Miniature Golf, Shuffle Board, Horseshoe, Bocce Ball, and Volleyball, to name just a few. A Picnic Pavilion rents for $10.00 daily. The recreational centers also offer teens and youth recreational programs.
SHOPPING: Lakewood Village Mall, in Fairfield Bay, is a multi-faceted shopping center with a nice variety of stores and shops to choose from. In nearby Clinton, the County Seat, there is a variety of shopping centers as well as a large Wal-Mart store, to name a few.
ACCOMODATIONS: As a property owner you also may rent rooms at the Fairfield Bay Resort for the reduced rate of $49.00 per night, a significant discount over the regular price.
ZONING, UTILITIES & ROADS: This area is zoned for single-family residences only; no mobile homes or RV Campers. Fairfield Bay has established water, electricity, phone, and sewer service. There is also the option of installing a septic tank if you prefer. The community is growing and areas are constantly being developed.
BUILDING & UPKEEP: There are no requirements, or time limits, to build. You can use all the amenities from the day you purchase the property. If you do not build; you can keep your property in its natural state, you do not have to mow, or do any other upkeep or maintenance on your lot.
POA DUES: As a Fairfield Bay property owner, you are also a member of the Fairfield Bay Community Club, and it's Property Owners Association (POA). POA dues on vacant lots are $33.00 per month, and not only provide for roads and right of way, upkeep, police and fire protection, facilities maintenance and construction, but also allows you, as a property owner, access to all the facilities in Fairfield Bay, including discounted rates for use of the numerous amenities. The dues also cover the cost of maintaining the golf courses, marina, country club, recreation centers and general landscaping. The Fairfield Bay Community Club prides itself on the quality of its maintenance and upkeep, and this pride is reflected throughout the community. As a POA member, you will be able to avail yourself to the many high-quality amenities Fairfield Bay has to offer.
