This city of 2400+ full-time residents features many amenities. GOLFING: There are 2 beautiful, well maintained golf courses at Horseshoe Bend. One is an 18-hole Championship course with fantastic elevation changes! The other is an executive style 18-hole par 3 course. Both of the courses offer challenges, elevation changes, and tree-lined fairways. As you turn onto Horseshoe Bend Parkway, from Business Hwy. 54 in Lake Ozark, and begin your drive down this peninsula you will be surrounded by golf courses and dense foliage. A turn to the left or the right might also take you into a secluded subdivision of homes occupied by year round or part-time residents. The Bend is only minutes from the city of Osage Beach, Lake Ozark, and the Bagnel Dam strip. Virtually every road leads to the Lake and all of the recreation and relaxation that awaits you. The Lake of the Ozarks was opened for navigation on May 30, 1931 after the completion of the Bagnel Dam. Surrounded by expansive forests and rolling hills enhanced by dramatic bluffs, the Lake boasts more than 1,150 miles of shoreline. Covering 54,000 acres running 92 miles end-to-end., the Lake offers a scenic panorama and a range of leisure and water activities that will excite and enchant any visitor. THERE ARE TWO BEAUTIFUL GOLF COURSES WITHIN HORSESHOE BEND. TURKEY MOUNTAIN GOLF COURSE IS A 18 HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP STYLE COURSE WITH BREATHTAKING ELEVATION CHANGES THROUGHOUT THE COURSE. CEDAR GLADE IS AN EXECUTIVE STYLE 18 HOLE PAR 3 COURSE. BOTH COURSES OFFER A GREAT CHALLENGE, ELEVATION CHANGES AND TREE LINED FAIRWAYS. THIS IS A GOLFERS DREAM COMMUNITY. THE TURKEY MOUNTAIN CLUB HOUSE IS LOCATED ON THE HIGHEST POINTS IN THE COUNTY OFFERING SPECTACULAR VIEWS. TURKEY MOUNTAIN GOLF COURSE ALSO OFFERS A DRIVING RANGE AND A PRACTICE GREEN. THE SECOND LARGEST LAKE, DIAMOND LAKE (APPROX. 100 ACRES) ALSO ALLOWS MOTOR BOATS (10 MPH SPEED LIMIT). THE SMALLEST LAKE, PIONEER LAKE (APPROX. 30 ACRES) OFFERS RELAXING VIEWS, SWIMMING AND FISHING. THE WATER IN THE LAKES IS VERY CLEAR MAKING THEM IDEAL FOR SWIMMING IN THE HOT SUMMER DAYS. THERE ARE TWO BEACHES ON CROWN LAKE AND A SMALL BEACH ON PIONEER LAKE. PONTOON BOATS SEEM TO BE THE BOAT OF CHOICE ON THE LARGER TWO LAKES BUT YOU SEE NUMEROUS SPEED BOATS ON CROWN LAKE AS WELL. THE FISHING IS GREAT WITH A VARIETY OF SPECIES SUCH AS BASS, CATFISH, CRAPPIE AND BLUEGILL. SCENIC STRAWBERRY RIVER MEANDERS THROUGH HORSESHOE BEND AND IS IDEAL FOR RAFTING AND FISHING ALSO.
